The National Platform of Self Advocates is an independent self-advocacy organisation. It was set up to make sure that the voices of people with intellectual disability are heard.
We are inviting out-going TDs and Ministers and candidates for the forthcoming election to a discussion forum with the National Platform of Self-Advocates and members of disability services in the Dublin region.

 

Here are some of the Questions we will ask the politicians on the panel

The National Platform has put the following questions to the panel:
1. What steps will you take to ratify the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disability?
2. How long will it take to put the structures in place to make the Assisted Decision-Making (Capacity) Act 2015 a legal instrument?
3. Will you establish a separate Cabinet Minister for Disability Inclusion?
4. How will you focus on ensuring that Human Rights is central to all policy?
